zips.com consists of a group of developers that have been delivering DMA and Zip Code data to web developers and Marketing companies since 2008.
Our data comes from USPS and other governmental sources. If you have the time to go and get the data for over 40,000 zip codes, the states, the cities, the counties, and the marketing areas you can probably do it. However if you value your time as much as our other customers do then do yourself a favor and download it from here in the three most common formats in use today - csv, xls, and sql.
